The Norwegian Gem has recently undergone ship wide enhancements. Come on board and experience newly designed public areas, revamped Haven spaces, fresh decor, modern finishes and more!

Carrying 2,294 passengers and with paintings of sparkling jewels splashed along its hull, Norwegian Gem sails from New York to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Canada and New England. The ship was launched in 2007 and is aimed at families and younger cruisers looking for a big, lively ship with great nightlife, no formal dress code and a wide assortment of restaurants and bars.

Like other Norwegian ships, Gem offers Freestyle Cruising, which means you dine when you want, with whom you want. Some restaurants, like the Grand Pacific main dining room, are included in the cruise fare and others carry a supplement; choose between the ornate Le Bistro; the Orchid Garden Asian restaurant; La Cucina, for Italian classics; and the Garden Cafe, an all-day buffet with a special section for children.

Activities include a full-service day spa and busy gym; an outdoor sports court; children's clubs for all ages, with particularly good facilities for teens; and in the Bliss Ultra Lounge, the first ten-pin bowling alley at sea.

Norwegian Gem has bars for every taste, with themes from Martinis to whisky, sake and Champagne. With dancing in the Bliss Ultra Lounge and the brightly coloured Spinnaker Lounge, as well as a busy casino, this is a ship for night owls.

Accommodation ranges from affordable inside family cabins sleeping four to beautiful 'villas' in The Haven, a separate area of the ship for suite-dwellers, where the most lavish stateroom is a three-bedroom Garden Villa that comes with its own hot tub, garden, living and dining rooms and a baby grand piano. Sleeping eight, this is the perfect space for a large family or a group of friends. Located at the top of the ship, The Haven features the most luxurious, well-appointed accommodations on board.
