The five star country house hotel by the sea
"I am particularly proud to introduce you to The Nare which has been in our family's ownership for over 30 years. An AA 5-star hotel, it has been the highest rated hotel in Cornwall for the last three decades. Acquired by my grandmother, Bettye Gray, The Nare continues a century-long family tradition of running hotels. Determined to provide luxury and elegance hitherto unknown in the South West she set about upgrading The Nare to become what it is today, a comfortable country house for discerning guests.
We continue to improve the luxurious style, yet are careful not to spoil the quintessential English quality and charm. Long-term caring staff give unobtrusive traditional service, where guests' comfort really does come first. With your first glimpse of the bay as you wind your way to this unspoilt, quiet corner of Cornwall I do hope you will be drawn to the come-home feel of The Nare, the country house hotel by the sea, so beloved by the many, many guests who return."

Rooms & Suites
All of the rooms and suites at The Nare are individually decorated in a classic country house style
Nare bedrooms are both elegant and comfortable. Most are large and spacious and all rooms have the refinements one would usually find in a well-run country house; armchairs, books, magazines and fresh flowers. Some of our rooms are on the ground floor making them easily accessible and a lift is available to access rooms on the first floor.
In addition to a full valet and evening turndown service, The Nare provides hot water bottles throughout the winter months. There is the choice of sheets or duvets according to one's taste. Bags are taken to the room on arrival and unpacked if desired. The Nare has traditional shoe cleaning, daily in-house laundry and 24-hour room service among many other comfort points that you would expect from a five-star hotel.
Exquisite British cuisine and fine wines are served in both of The Nare's sea-view restaurants
Dining at The Nare is a luxurious experience. Guests may choose each night whether to dine in the relaxed Quarterdeck Restaurant or the traditional and more formal Dining Room. The Nare's reputation for fine dining has been established over many years, with both Nare restaurants receiving recognition for culinary excellence. Cornwall itself has become a destination for some of the finest chefs and restaurants in the country, owing much to the excellent local produce on offer from the sea and land.
As a country house hotel by the sea, The Nare is a specialist when it comes to seafood dishes and the Cornish beef sourced from local farms, is amongst some of the best on offer. In particular the renowned Sunday Lunch at The Nare, held in The Dining Room, is an experience not to be missed. Menus are carefully crafted to offer classic and contemporary dishes, with all dishes prepared daily in our kitchens under the direction of executive head chef, Brett Camborne-Paynter.
The Nare has an extensive wine cellar with classic and interesting wines from around the world selected and laid down with the experience and insight of Proprietor, Toby Ashworth. The wine list also includes several of the best wines from Cornish vineyards, who owe much of their success to the subtropical climate enjoyed on the south Cornish coast.
Swimming Pools & Hot Tub
The Nare outdoor pool is surrounded by sun loungers and enjoys fantastic views across the gardens, the beach and out to sea. The outdoor pool is open between May and October and is heated to a warm 30 degrees Celsius.
The indoor pool has its own jet stream for ambitious swimmers and a hot hydrotherapy spa, sauna and steam room for complete relaxation. The outdoor hot tub sits in the shelter of a beach hut overlooking the sea, this is a great place to relax and watch the sun go down on Nare Head.
The Nare's central position south of Truro is an ideal base to discover the natural beauty and historical sites Cornwall has to offer. With over 600 miles of stunning coastline and beautiful beaches, harbours, castles, churches and gardens, there is plenty to explore. The Nare's private chauffeur, local knowledge and bespoke itineraries make sights easy to access and enjoy.
