Situated on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, the Sultan Palace blends the opulence of Arabia with true Zanzibarian hospitality. Its nautilus shell-shaped cottages, each resplendent with gleaming white castellations, feature local antique furnishings including carved omanite doors and ornate beds draped in fine net. All are air-conditioned and have private verandahs with sunbeds. Five Imperial Suites and four Ocean Suites offer stunning marine vistas, the former boasting a private garden with hammock. The six Garden Suites, naturally, are set in the scented tropical gardens.
Delightful cuisine, with the accent on fresh seafood, is served in the beach ‘Bandas’ at lunchtime and on the candle lit terraces of the Club House in the evenings, whilst any time is a good time to relax on the Arabic terrace with an aromatic spiced coffee or tea.
