Norwegian Sun

Luxury Cruises with Norwegian Cruise Line

The initial impression when you board Norwegian Sun is one of cool elegance with rich woods and fabric. Sunshine pours into the eight-deck atrium by day; which by night is a hub of activity. Many bars and lounges on this 1,936-passenger ship, launched in 2001, radiate from this attractive central meeting point with glass-enclosed lifts rising throughout the ship.

The Observation Lounge is a quiet spot for afternoon tea in a light, tropical setting with nothing to distract attention from the expansive views. For the health-conscious, there's also the Mandara Spa and Fitness Centre, two swimming pools, a golf driving net, walking/running track, and basketball/volleyball court. Norwegian Sun is always a hit with families, thanks to its children's pool, arcade and teens club.

The ship has nine bars in all, including the Champagne Bar, Sports Bar, Champs Bar; Topsiders Bar; Windjammer Piano Bar; Dazzles Nightclub and Sun Club Casino Bar. The Stardust Lounge features comedians and magicians.

Norwegian Sun was the first ship built specially for Freestyle Dining, Norwegian's concept of eating whenever you like, with no formal dinner sittings. The five complimentary eateries include the two main dining rooms - the Four Seasons and the Seven Seas; a modern Tapas Bar; the buffet-style Garden Cafe; and Great Outdoor Cafe. Speciality restaurants include: Cagney's steakhouse; Teppanyaki for performance-style Japanese food; Le Bistro French restaurant; Moderno Brazilian steakhouse; La Cucina Italian restaurant; and Ginza Sushi.

Norwegian Sun offers a range of accommodation choices from inside cabins to mini-suites and penthouses, right up to the 828 sqft Owner's Suites, which boast a whirlpool bath and an amazing balcony as well as butler and concierge service.
