Luxury Cruises with Ponant

With its streamlined superstructure painted in the unusual colour of taupe, Le Boreal is like a Jaguar with a sleek exterior, deluxe interior and superb performance. The colour scheme throughout is one of charcoal tones with crystal-white accents. The public areas are adorned with nautical prints by the celebrated French photographer Philip Plisson. The two-deck high atrium has a crystal raindrop sculpture centrepiece; while in La Licorne Restaurant there is an abundance of white leather seating under a ceiling created using Swarovski crystals.

There are six cabin categories aboard the 264-passenger Le Boreal. One Owner's Suite measures a generous 500 sq ft while three 'Suite Deluxe' come in at 301 sq ft. There are 20 'Suite Prestige' which measure 398 sq ft - these are comprised of two adjoining Cabin Prestige with communicating doors. In total, there's 90 'Cabin Prestige' which span 199 sq ft. There are also 28 similarly sized 'Cabin Deluxe' as well as seven 'Cabin Superior' - the only cabin grades without private balconies.

The Gastronomic Restaurant offers nightly high-end culinary menus and there's always the option of the more casual Grill which offers a dinner menu that is partially buffet-style. Breakfast and lunch are served here and the cuisine is, unsurprisingly, very French. Each lunchtime there is a 'Lean and Light' barbecue on Deck 7 above the swimming pool. Le Boreal also has an attractive Beauty Centre where treatments use Sothys products; in the spa there's a hammam as well as fitness centre with Technogym equipment and Kinesis wall. During Le Boreal's South American cruise season there will be an 'Open Bar' which will included unlimited complimentary drinks including a selection of fine wines, champagnes, spirits, mineral water and soft drinks.
