Emerald Princess

Luxury Cruises with Princess Cruises

Emerald Princess was launched in 2007 and is one of the largest ships in the fleet, carrying 3,082 passengers and offering nearly 900 balcony cabins. The ship sails in the Caribbean in winter and the Mediterranean in summer. Emerald's interiors are light and spacious, the action centred around the beautiful Piazza, an atrium with the atmosphere of a chic town square. As well as whiling away the time here in the International Café or Vines Wine Bar (where the tables are polished wine barrels), there's daily entertainment to be enjoyed by all the family, with snippets from the shows in the larger Princess Theatre as well as impromptu acrobatics and dance displays.

Emerald Princess has four pools; we particularly love the aft pool with its tiered decks and wonderful views over the ship's wake. One pool has a giant movie screen for the line's signature Movies Under The Stars, and there's an adults-only area, The Sanctuary, overlooking the Lotus Spa Pool, with soft loungers, quiet, shaded areas and waiters circulating with cold drinks and snacks.

Dining options include the three main dining rooms and various Princess favourites, including the decadent Sabatini's, for an Italian feast; the Crown Grill for steak and seafood; Vines for early evening tapas; and Prego, for poolside pizza. You can even dine on your private balcony if you wish to.

Emerald Princess buzzes with activity in the evenings; try the retro Crooners Bar, or Adagio for cocktails, or the Wheelhouse Bar for a nautical theme. Skywalkers Nightclub is located high up on the top deck, while the Explorers Lounge offers cabaret-style entertainment. There are glitzy productions in the theatre, as well as comedians and quiz shows, and Gatsby's Casino for those in a lucky mood.
