Luxury Cruises with Oceania Cruises

South African Explorer

On board Nautica the décor is more Ritz than glitz and the atmosphere is sassy and grown-up. This 684-passenger vessel underwent a multimillion-dollar transformation in early 2014 and now reflects a triumph of tasteful style. Decks are resplendent in the finest teak, custom stone and tile work, while lounges and bars boast luxurious, neo-classical furnishings. There's also a museum-quality art collection that is an eclectic fusion of traditional and contemporary. Quality musicians are a feature of cruises aboard Nautica, whether it is a string quartet playing in the Grand Dining Room or a classical guitarist playing on the outside deck of the Terrace cafe at dinner.

When it comes to cuisine Nautica is definitely in the spotlight. Day after day, meal after meal, the culinary experience never disappoints. Menus that buck the norm have been devised by culinary guru Jacques Pépin who personally overseas the training of on-board chefs. The Grand Dining Room is no fallacy; this richly furnished room sets the scene for the faultless food presented on Versace china by adept waiters. As its name implies the Polo Grill offers a tempting menu boasting the finest cuts of beef; while Toscana is not only staffed by Italians, the chefs hail from that land of gastronomic excellence. The dress code every night is 'Country Club Casual'.

Nautica boasts a variety of grades of suites and staterooms ranging from compact inside cabins to spacious Penthouse Suites as well as vast Owner's and Vista Suites measuring nearly 1,000-square feet. We particularly like the Prestige Tranquility Beds and 1,000-thread-count linens. All Concierge Level and Suite guests can enjoy complimentary unlimited access to the beautifully-appointed Canyon Ranch SpaClub private Spa Terrace.
