The 60 luxuriously large double rooms and four magnificent suites of the Choupana Hills resort are housed within a unique complex made up of 34 bungalow-style units, set on pillars amid lush gardens. All rooms open onto verandahs from which guests are treated to spectacular views of Funchal and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean.
The innovative architectural features of the development are truly beautiful – both strikingly modern and traditionally comfortable. Solid wooden pillars support buildings in which the interiors reflect an exotic mix of Asian, African and other international influences, decorated with unique period pieces and antiques, and flooded with natural light.
The exotic influences are also reflected in the cuisine of the resort, where a variety of innovative flavours are created by the specially trained chef at the Xôpana restaurant. Suspended above the restaurant, the Basalt bar offers magnificent views over the resort and serves a selection of drinks and cocktails.
Guest rooms are elegantly appointed with all facilities you’d expect, while the suites also offer an outside Jacuzzi from which to enjoy the views in greater luxury and relaxation. Relaxation is the theme, with the hotel’s two heated swimming pools, outdoor lagoon pool and further pool in the serene spa area providing excellent facilities for unwinding. |
