After winding through the narrow, cobbled streets of the historical centre, the road curves upwards, sweeping you through gates and into the fragrant hotel gardens, actually one of northern Italy’s greatest private parks. Finally you reach the neo-classical grandeur of the old Villa Cortine Palace itself, styled after Palladio and replete with paintings and mosaics which owner Sir Giampietro Ghidini has devoted himself to restoring. Attached is the main part of the hotel, more contemporary in style, yet oozing old world charm.

54 rooms which include Double Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites and Suites. All offer air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, radio and most with lake view and balcony. Junior Suites have a lounge area with sofa and CD player, whilst in the Suites a curtained partition divides the large open-plan lounge and bedroom. Our favourite however are the 8 Deluxe Rooms on the 3rd floor with lovely views and a large terrace from which to enjoy them!
