Amankila, meaning peaceful hill in Sanskrit, is built along the contours of an escarpment between two headlands in east Bali. The resort mirrors the flowing natural setting, expanding over four levels, sloping down to private shores. Set amongst natural vegetation and groves of mature tropical trees, the 34 thatched suites are elevated to take advantage of garden or ocean views, and some have their own pool.
The Terrace Restaurant is set beside a delightful three tiered swimming pool while the Beach Club at the shoreline is spread amongst coconut palms, with a 45 metre pool at the centre. Take a day trip to the water palace of Tirtagangga or the island’s oldest village, Tenganan. Visit beautiful temples and villages or perhaps just relax on the beach or indulge in a massage. To really get away from it all, head to Amankila’s bale in the mountain for a picnic, the hut overlooking pretty fields of rice and banana trees, or step aboard one of the resort’s own boats for cruising, snorkelling, diving or fishing. |
