An informal, lively and friendly resort, The Reefs has long been a favourite of many visitors to Bermuda.
Gently sloping walkways lead down to a sheltered beach where you can laze under shady striped umbrellas and sun loungers on the beautiful pink-tinged sand, while swimmers snorkel among the fishrich reefs that dot the shoreline. A few steps up from the beach brings you to the spacious upper terrace where you will find the island's only infinity pool.
The resort's Lanai Rooms have been artfully set into a cliff of jagged rocks, affording spectacular views. A gentle stroll along the scenic South Shore leads to the exclusive Cottage Suites, some nestled in garden settings and some with ocean vistas, all with an outdoor Jacuzzi.
The Reefs Clubhouse boasts a large cocktail lounge together with an elegant dining room, bar and library for quiet contemplation. The bar is a particularly popular spot for convivial chat, and the plantfilled dining room offers à ¬a carte fare for lunch and dinner. The oceanfront Coconuts offers alfresco dining, alternatively, should you not wish to stray far from your sun lounger - the appropriately named Sand Bar - situated directly on the beach, offers a comprehensive choice of drinks and snacks.
Sports facilities include two all-weather tennis courts, snorkelling, scuba diving and glass-bottomed boat hire nearby. Fishing and sailing can also be arranged. When the day draws to a close, it's time to kick off your shoes and dance island-style accompanied by nightly local entertainment with calypso some evenings. |
