Designed by Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki and restored by music mogul Chris Blackwell into an oasis of chic, the Pink Sands resort comprises pastel-coloured cottages set by the edge of the three mile beach and scattered throughout lush tropical grounds.
The cottages are designed to ensure privacy for all guests, and are romantically decorated in a mixture of styles including Moroccan, Indian and Balinese. Their private patios offer opportunities for relaxation while Oceanfront Cottages have their own paths down to the sea.
You'll find Pink Sands both understated and rather witty, with the Moroccan/Far East inspired main lobby and bar reached by stepping stones across a small pond.
The activities on the three tennis courts, in the freshwater swimming pool and the exercise studio may be balanced with some leisurely 'study' in the library - offering books, films and music - or some meditation on the beach sunbeds.
Both breakfast and romantic candlelight dinners are served alfresco at the Garden Restaurant. Have lunch at the Blue Bar overlooking clear turquoise ocean waters and you'll be convinced that paradise is not lost! |
