Royal Caribbean

Luxury Cruises with Royal Caribbean

One of the world's biggest feeding troughs, Royal Caribbean operates a fleet of more than 20 vessels, including the two biggest cruise ships in the world, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas; and two of the most technologically advanced, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean has always been known for its innovation. It was the first line to introduce climbing walls on deck, as well as ice rinks, a living park, a high diving display and now, on the newest ships, skydiving simulators and bars tended only by robots. The cruise line has made impressive investments in technology and will soon be the first to offer super-fast internet on several of its ships. It's also changing the face of traditional cruise ship dining with the new concept of Dynamic Dining, where you choose a different restaurant every night, should you please, make your reservations online or via an app on your phone and eat at the time of your choice.

Royal Caribbean's ships tend to sail on shorter cruises from popular ports; rather than offering exotic world voyages, the line sails in the Mediterranean, Alaska, the Baltic, Mexico and, of course, the Caribbean. All the ships are extremely family friendly, with one of the finest children's clubs at sea, Adventure Ocean, made all the more exciting by a tie-up with Dreamworks, so you could bump onto Shrek or a Madagascar penguin wandering round the ship.

British cruisers are big fans of Royal Caribbean, partly thanks to the wide range of cruises on their doorstep. The new Anthem of the Seas is based in Southampton for summer 2015, while there are no-fly cruises from Harwich to the Baltic as well as fly-cruises from Rome, Venice, Copenhagen and Barcelona, where Allure of the Seas, the world's biggest ship, will be based for a season in 2015.
