Targeting the younger end of the baby-boomer market, Arcadia is an adults-only ship that revels in the modern cruise tradition and boasts signature features such as exterior glass-fronted lifts. Nowhere is the modern cruising ethic more evident that in the expansive Oasis Spa. Here you can relax in the hydrotherapy pool or detox in the hydro pool and thermal suite with steam rooms as well as heated loungers with sea views. The fitness facilities include Diversions Kinesis gym, while T'ai Chi, Yoga and dance classes are held in the Retreat.

Arcadia underwent a refurbishment in late 2013, highlights of which include the Globe lounge, which has become a late-night dancing venue; while the ever-popular Crow's Nest received a complete makeover. Also added were 24 new cabins, including six single cabins – two with balconies and four interiors. The 2,094-passenger Arcadia has a high proportion of balcony cabins and all come with tea and coffee-making facilities. While there 28 different price grades, there are really only five types of accommodation. There are 66 suites and mini-suites, six grades of deluxe balcony cabin, six of outside cabins and eight categories of Inside accommodation. There are also 30 wheelchair-accessible cabins.

If you are a foodie you'll be in your element on Arcadia. The two-tier Meridian Restaurant is located at the aft of the ship; the upper level is for Freedom Dining – you can go anytime between 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm. The lower level has two sittings which P&O Cruises refers to as Club Dining. The Ocean Grill by Marco Pierre White specialises in prime steaks and seafood, while East Restaurant on Deck 11 has fine panoramic views and serves Asian-fusion cuisine created by Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar.
