Celebrity Cruises is part of the same company as Royal Caribbean and Azamara Club Cruises, one of the biggest and most powerful cruise lines in the world. Celebrity bills its product as 'Modern Luxury' which does, indeed, sum it up well. The ships are sleek and beautiful, with tasteful, stylish interiors reminiscent of a private yacht. The newest ships in the fleet, Solstice, Eclipse, Equinox, Reflection and Silhouette, are exceptionally stylish 'some of our favourites for big ship cruising' and have the unusual feature of half an acre of living lawn on the top deck. You can't beat lying on the grass on a sunny afternoon with a Pimms, listening to jazz, or dining at the Lawn Club Grill, under the stars, on Reflection and Silhouette as the ship sails through the warm night.
A constant renovation programme ensures the older ships have similar features to the new ones and innovative new offerings are always being introduced; 2015 will see the addition of Suite Class, a new cabin grade with all sorts of extra privileges, including its own lounge and restaurant.
Celebrity puts a strong emphasis on food. The quality in its main dining rooms is excellent and there are a number of alternatives on each ship for a small fee, from fine Mediterranean cuisine in Murano to quirky dishes with a twist in Qsine. Each ship has a decent wine cellar, too, with plenty of fine wines available by the glass.
The ships are all family-friendly, with children's facilities in the Fun Factory and separate hangouts for teens. You can sail all over the world with Celebrity Cruises; the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Baltic; Asia; Alaska; South America; and the east coast of the USA.
