Set on a three-quarter-mile stretch of white sand and surrounded by 40 acres of tropical gardens, Galley Bay is Antigua's most secluded All-Inclusive resort. Here the most taxing decision you'll face each day is whether to have another rum punch or go snorkelling.
The thatched roofs of the resort's architecture take their inspiration from the paintings of Gauguin, with tiled floors, bright fabrics and handcrafted furniture creating a tropical feel. The superbly located beachfront rooms and suites have patios or balconies just a flip-flop's pace from the shore ' you could only get closer if you slept on the sand itself. Characterful and simple accommodation is found in the Gauguin Cottages, set beside a bird sanctuary lagoon. These little Tahitian-style huts ' one a bedroom, the other a bath/dressing room, connected by a 'breeze way' ' make a romantic and rustic retreat.
All guest rooms are comfortable with terracotta tiled floors and louvered windows. The Deluxe Beachfront Rooms are well appointed and spacious with walk-in closets, large beach patios (with beach shower) and modern designer bathrooms featuring 'his and hers' showers. Walk out onto the beach from lower level rooms. Second floor rooms have private balconies with spectacular ocean views.
While it's tempting just to snooze on a sun lounger beside the resort's free-form pool, listening to the waterfalls cascading over its dramatic rock wall, there's plenty to satisfy the active. Explore the warm waters of the Caribbean with windsurfing, kayaking, snorkelling or sailing, play tennis or croquet, or take a scenic stroll along the trails encircling the lagoon.
Sip an 'Antiguan Smile' at the beachside Teepee bar, beneath its coneshaped roof, then enjoy an à ¬a carte gourmet dinner in the Sea Grape restaurant to the rhythm of a steel band. More casual fare is served at the Gauguin restaurant, though the sea views are just as compelling. Round off the day with a 'digestif' in the Lounge bar, serenaded by cicadas and tree frogs.

The Premium Beachfront Suites are especially spacious, with direct beach access from the ground floor rooms, large balconies or beach patios with an outdoor shower, walk-in wardrobes and modern bathrooms with 'his and hers' showers.
